being half native, i am beyond tired of this reoccurring theme. for all of you cryptid fans, the wendigo, thunderbirds, skinwalkers, etc. are NOT cryptids. they are a part of indigenous culture and are spirits/entities, and not anything like mothman. they are religious and cultural folklore, despite the fact that cryptozoologists try to classify them as cryptids.
also, do not associate any non-indigenous oc’s with ANY spirits from native culture and folklore, as it is very insensitive (i.e. kylo ren wendigo, named “rendigo”) to the culture and considered white-washing. our culture, practices, and religion has already been stretched far and thin over the years. be respectful please.

We don’t accept any submissions with skinwalkers, wendigos, or thunderbirds. If anyone sees any cryptids on this page that make them uncomfortable or that they feel are appropriating any particular cultural folklore for a joke, let me know and I will delete the post and make sure that I correct the issue going forward. Many of you seem shocked by the bombing attempts on CNN and prominent Democrats.
I’m not. I saw this coming a year ago.
After Charlottesville, Richard Spencer released a statement via his proxies in which he called for the alt-right to adopt a doctrine of “leaderless resistance” (terrorism committed by individuals or small groups). He named, the DNC, Planned Parenthood as well as environmentalist and queer groups as prospective targets. Then of course there was the Austin Bombings which were written off as a “lone wolf” attack even though the targets were all prominent PoC including a 17 year old jazz bassist who should be studying at Oberlin right now. His name was Draylen Mason.
Also, this nazi blew himself up making bombs this past April.
Also also, an apocalyptic neo-nazi death cult known as the Atomwaffen Division (which includes active duty military) has continued to organize throughout the US and Canada despite being linked to 5 murders and at least one dirty bomb plot. ProPublica and PBS have exposed their entire network and yet federal law enforcement does nothing.
Not to mention, Trump has been blowing the dogwhistle constantly for the past 2 years.
Stop with the sanctimonious calls for “civility” and condemnations of “divisiveness”. You’re not helping. Both sides are not to blame and if you dare say that to my face I will slap you. Planned Parenthood and the Democratic Socialists of America aren’t mailing pipe bombs to Mitt Romney and Fox News. Stop telling people they need to “get out and vote” as if it’s a cure for all of society’s ills. (Yes, I will vote. I always vote. that’s not what this conversation is about)
You need to do much more than vote.
You need to acknowledge that the republic is failing at an exponential rate and adjust your politics accordingly. Realize that this is going to get worse still before it gets better and that the elections this year or in 2020 will not ameliorate civil strife but accelerate it. After the midterms, the next round of bombs may actually go off.
You need to build a network of trusted people who share your values that is apart from work, school, family, old friends etc.
You need to reach out the the most vulnerable people in your community and ask them what you can do to help.
This is demonstrating why you absolutely do not pour water on a grease fire.

Okaaaay. If any of you actually have a grease fire in the kitchen put the lid on the pan. It will suffocate the flames. Don’t pour water on it, and don’t freak out. Cook safely!
Or throw flour on it to smother it.

YOU HAVE TO USE BAKING SODA.
Throwing flour into a fire can cause it to combust and make the fire worse because FLOUR/SUGAR IS FLAMMABLE. One cup of flour into a grease fire can have the explosive force of dynamite.
The reason you use baking soda is that it releases carbon dioxide when heated, and CO2 is a fire suppressant.
