The actions of the super wealthy to make billions of dollars they will never use are often more horrific than the desperate measures of the impoverished to get their next meal.
The modern equivalent of “not making a sound when someone knocks on your door so that they think you aren’t home” is not clicking on a message someone sent you so that the “seen” part doesn’t show up on their side
I think the biggest argument for using identity first language (”I am x”) instead of person first language (”I have x) isn’t just that sometimes it’s impossible to clearly separate a diagnosis from who you are as a person, but that you shouldn’t have to be able to clearly separate the diagnosis from yourself to prove that you’re worthy of respect and compassion.
It’s not just that I can’t realistically separate myself from my diagnosis, it’s that I shouldn’t have to do it for people to be able to acknowledge my worth.
When I say “I am x” I am not saying “I am only x” and if that’s that you hear, then that’s on you for thinking x negates my person hood and that it thus has to be clearly and comfortably separated from who I am as a person for you to fully see me as a person.
Saying “I am x” is a rebellion against that presumption.
due to the rise in popularity of the ‘french tuck’ caused singlehandedly by Tan from Queer Eye, there has been a parallel increase in people who can’t figure out how the fuck to do a french tuck. Especially with t-shirts which can be longer and not made of the kind of lighter, flowing material that is best suited to the style.
and so you get something like this
not great.
its okay though, the solution is simple!
first, start with your untucked shirt
then starting in the front middle, begin to roll the shirt under itself, rolling it up an inch or two
and then NOW we tuck. the rolled area section is tucked into the band of your preference of pants, skirt etc. and then adjusted as needed to achieve the desired effect.
the advantage of this method is two fold. firstly, it is easy to master and repeat. secondly, it keeps the tucked shirt just below the band of your pants/skirt and disguises any lumps/wrinkles of shirt fabric under tight bottoms such as leggings.

What’s True:
“Lyft announced free rides for “underserved communities” to be distributed via certain non-profit partners. Uber offered $14 off a round-trip to and from the polling station via one of its non-profit partners, and $10 off a one-way trip to the polling station for other users, discounts that would constitute a cost-free journey if the value of the journey was lower than the discount.”
What’s False:
“Neither company offered entirely free rides in a wholesale, blanketed way. Lyft only committed to offering free rides to “underserved communities” with 50 percent discounts for other voters. The discount offered by Uber would not amount to a free ride if the cost of the journey exceeded the value of the discount.”
"100 millions years ago, there were mosquitoes just like today. Sometimes, after biting a dinosaur, mosquitoes would land on the branch of a tree and get stuck in the sap.
Using sophisticated techniques, they extract the preserved blood
from the mosquito, and bingo! Dino DNA!“
