Ever notice how men who are actually really involved in raising their own children get called “Mr. Mom” instead of just ‘dad’. Ever notice how the term for really nurturing and caring friends even if they’re a man is “mom friend” instead of “dad friend” or “parent friend.” Ever see that fuckery of a text post that calls a cis guy caring for children “mothering” instead of just, “parenting” or maybe even “fathering”? And this isn’t the only instance where I’ve seen a man being caring toward children jokingly called “mothering” instead of just, idk, caring? Parenting? Fathering? You ever think about how this is some Fuck Shit that’s enforcing what should be outdated sexist stereotypes that being caring and nurturing or parental are actually just women’s traits and if you’re a man exhibiting caring, nurturing, or parental behavior then you’re acting like a woman.
