i’ve made this post already but: mulan spends most of the movie dressed in a masculine fashion and 90% of the edits i see are only of the very beginning and very end where she is dressed in a traditionally feminine way. this rubs me the wrong way for so many reasons….
like mulan is absolutely queercoded and fandom denial of this even in such subtle ways just reeks of bigotry toward gay, queer, trans, & gnc folx… like i know the aesthetic of “pretty girl” is nice, but maybe consider why you prefer that aesthetic at the expense of representing a person who does not neatly fit into the gender binary.
