Me: One of our most fundamental rights is control over our own bodies. Our ability to consent, refuse consent, and revoke consent as to what happens to our bodies is paramount to our dignity as people; protection against violation, violence, and exploitation; and self-determination. Undercutting the respect for bodily autonomy can quickly give way to unethical and dangerous practices, and has led to some of the greatest medical and scientific abuses in human history. This is about more than just abortion. It’s about forced sterilization, it’s about organ donation, it’s about surrogacy rights, it’s about voluntary euthenics and DNR rights. It’s about medical consent during pregnancy and births, it’s about access to medical information to make informed choices about our own care. It’s about the ability to choose to stop medical care if we choose, to seek a second opinion. It’s about the ability to choose what happens to our bodies after we die, and the right to have that choice respected. It is paramount to acknowledge that our bodies are ours, and our right to control them is irrevocable. It doesn’t go away when we get old, when we get sick, when we have sex, if we get pregnant. You may not personally like the implications this has for the abortion debate, but undermining the fundamental right to bodily autonomy has impacts far far greater than just abortion that should not be tampered with.
Some jackass on this hellsite: Yeah but….you CHOSE to have sex, right? So checkmate.
-waikiki was once a taro patch that fed all the native hawaiians on that side of the island.
-oahus current population numbers were once all native hawaiians. Now they comprise less than 5% of it.
-native hawaiians comprise less than 15% of the total population of hawaii but are most of the homeless and well over half the prison populace over non-violent petty offenses.
-native hawaiians have the lowest life expectancy, lowest income and least chances for education out of damn near all ethnic groups in the u.s.
LOL jaspurrlock got deleted for drawing copious amounts of child porn and now theyre whining about it on twitter. if you are an adult, go on twitter and report them there too, their header is literally bdsm art of a 16-17 year old. report them on patreon as well, neither of these sites allow cp either. let’s alex jones with bitch
I’m upset because I want to change the world but the world is too big and people are too mean
“Do not be daunted by the enormity of the world’s grief. Do justly, now. Love mercy, now. Walk humbly now. You are not obligated to complete the work, but neither are you free to abandon it.” – Rabbi Tarfon
Banks don’t belong at pride. Corporations don’t belong at pride. Cops don’t belong and pride. Fascists don’t belong at pride. The forces that have abused us, oppressed us, have murdered our brothers and sisters do not get to take part in pride.
So inclusive. How beautiful.
I can’t believe I’ve been such a richphobe, fascistphobe, and a murdererphobe 😦
You don’t get to pretend like gay cops don’t exist to try to justify your blind hatred. If you’re LGBT, you belong at Pride. Your chosen profession is irrelevant.
I’ve never once said gay cops don’t exist. Infact, I’ve specifically called them traitors at one point. They wanna kill the innocent, lock up the innocent, and uphold fascism, then they don’t belong at an event that honors a riot against the the police.
im sorry to break the news to you pal, but cops go to pride *specifically* to make sure no homophobes get past security with guns and dangerous weapons. id rather gay people be allowed to gather in one place safety than end up with brutal injuries just because a few gay people thought all cops are bad guys
Look, I dont know where you live and I’m not going to tell you how your local pride works, but having been to more than one pride in more than one city across more than one state, the people checking bags are low level city workers or the organization that organized the event. Cops are just there. I’ve seen cops arrest black people just for, ya know, being there. I’ve seen cops protect a homophobe screaming how he was gonna shoot us all up (the year of Pulse btw) because the scary home of sexuals were angry. Hell, most city’s PAY police to “protect” the event and when groups decide they don’t want to pay any more, the police actually threaten the event with violence. This has happened many times.
I’m sorry to break the news to you buddy, but cops are a threat to the extended community. If you feel safe around them, neat, but perhaps that means you’re in a better position than others.
