hey quick question to people who are adults

does saliva actually work as lubricant? I am trying to assemble an aquarium cover and it… needs some help…

hmmmm

no luck, but now I can check ‘glass aquarium lids’ of my list of things that I have licked

Ship… We need an expanded version of that list

-a jellyfish
-a banana slug
-an ice sculpture at an art gallery, at the encouragement of the gallery owner
-a dinosaur bone
-stuff I found in kitchens and couldn’t otherwise identify
-a comically tiny gun
-a sugar maple tree
-a 9 volt battery
-every salt lamp
-a bitcoin
-bullet casings
-idk probably some other stuff I’m not remembering

fat trans ppl deal with a lot of shit and its so sucky because some people will only support skinny trans ppl bc thats all they can conceptualize and accept when trans ppl in actuality come in all different types of bodies

if u dont support fat trans ppl the way u support skinny trans ppl u need to rethink what kind of “ally” u are.

As a fat trans woman this is so true even within the trans community. I’ve had so many other trans women invalidate me, be dismissive of my issues and experience, and so forth simply because of my size. It’s really fucking disappointing to run into.

Anyone else only in their 20s but feel like they are running out of time to get their life together??

Don’t.

I felt this way too, in my twenties, but you know what?

I began transitioning at 30. I went back to grad school at 32. I’m living my best life, and while I’m a little behind the curve compared to some of my classmates on some things, I’m also so far ahead of them on others.

You need follow nobody’s schedule but your own.

Life is hard and the world isn’t doing any of us favors.

Be kind to yourself, and remember that you still have plenty of time. The only difference between starting now and 5 or 10 years earlier is now you have more experience.

I needed to hear this so badly

history fucked me up

oxford was built and operational as a college before the rise of the mayans and cleopatra lived in a time nearer to pizza hut’s invention than to the pyramids being built

I need a noncomprehensive history book that covers Known World History in time periods, like “in this century, all this shit was happening concurrently” and not just all spread out so I have to piece it together like some unpaid uneducated scholar

Mongols were fighting Samurai in Japan and Knights in Europe at the same time.

Star Wars a New Hope came out the same year as the last execution in France by Guillotine.

Abraham Lincoln and Edgar Allen Poe were friends in their early 20′s.

When the Great Pyramids were being built there were areas that still had Woolly Mammoths roaming.

Harvard University didn’t teach calculus in its first few years after being established because calculus wasn’t invented yet.

Nintendo was founded two years after the Eiffel Tower was constructed

This is the book you want: The Timetables of History – going year by year (or in the earlier sections, at least century by century) and showing you what was going on in various parts of the world in several categories (e.g. Politics, Literature, Science, etc.)  Super useful for visualizing what events were happening at the same time.

looking at Wikipedia’s pages for years, decades, or centuries can also be fun for this reason
