So this is pretty off topic, but if you have a relative/friend in the hospital it’s usually pretty easy to call and get their tv/internet put on hold while they’re in to save them some cash.  Their service provider might put up some kind of light protest, like they’ll want to put the hold on for a specific number of days, but if you just ask again to have it on hold till they’re out they’ll usually do it.  You’ll probably need their account number and date of birth, but you might just need their phone number or address.  A lot of companies will even do this through facebook/email so you don’t have to call.

Also be sure to turn they’re thermostat down/up to save them a bunch on their power bill.
