This might be a controversial opinion, but I really do believe that before you kill something – anything – you should consider what gives you the right to kill it. Oftentimes you do – you might need to kill a cow to eat, or pull up an invasive plant to reduce damage to the ecosystem, or poison moths to prevent them from spoiling your food – but it’s never something that should be done lightly. Life is beautiful in all its forms, and it’s not something to be taken haphazardly.
