Everyone really underestimates how far along global warming has gotten.
We’ve already crossed the 400ppm atmospheric carbon threshold and are actually really around like ~410ppm by now.
The mainstream scientific consensus is starting to come around to the fact that by the end of the century we’re going to have complete and total runaway climate catastrophe unless we essentially shrink our carbon output to 0 like….. immediately
Man. Im pretty sure that we need something catastrophic to end humanity immediately if thats guna happen!
You don’t get it. This is the something catastrophic. Some estimates put potential human die-off at more than three-quarters of global population.
If all humans died tomorrow the planet would still heat up to 4 degrees hotter and worse– part of the effect is being masked by pollutant cooling aerosols so that if we stopped polluting tomorrow the haze would lift and it’d be immediately hotter.
I want to live, so the question is “how do I live in this new world?”. You may want to consider it too.
