I learned about this recently too, that people below a certain income level are essentially considered ‘worthless’ to our economy because they are incapable of making big purchases that add value to our gdp (like personal airplanes and boats) so they keep advertising and appealing to the rich folks to plop down their cash on extravagant novelties rather than investing in helping the poor

It’s absolutely disgusting.
